People reports today that “THERE ARE NO HARD FEELINGS BETWEEN JAY LENO AND RYAN PHILLIPE” (emphasis mine.) If your initial thought is “Why would there be hard feelings between two best friends who hang out every day?” the back-story is that when Ryan Phillipe appeared on Leno’s talk show two weeks ago, Leno made a bunch of off-even-for-him jokes about Phillipe’s experiences portraying a homosexual. He then had to publicly apologize to Ryan Phillipe and also the gay community. But you’ll be happy to know that Ryan Phillipe isn’t holding any grudges.

As far as the controversy over Leno’s homophobic comments, you guys need to relax:

Tonight Show announcer John Melendez, who wrote and stars in the straight-to-DVD comedy One, Two, Many, also weighed in on the controversy: “Jay doesn’t have a bad bone in his body. If people get angry at something he said, they just can’t take him that literal. He’s just a good guy. In this day and age, everyone is so PC. As soon as Janet Jackson shows a bit of her boob, the whole country goes crazy. It’s sad.”

Right. Listen to the guy who wrote and stars in the straight-to-DVD comedy One, Two, Many (such an important detail in this story). He’s an expert on sensitivity for no reason. You will remember that Janet Jackson’s nip slip was also a degrading and marginalizing chuckleheaded legitimization of deeply rooted bigotry by a media figure whose job it is to shape public opinion.
