Bad news for the VD’O superfans out there. He is leaving Law & Order: Criminal Intent after eight seasons. From Variety:

Sources from the “L&O” galaxy say that stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe, and Eric Bogosian are all expected to be phased out at various points during the series’ upcoming ninth season. Julianne Nicholson left the show a few months ago. Executive producer Dick Wolf is turning to Jeff Goldblum, who joined the cast last season, to remain as lead detective in the series along with Saffron Burrows, who was recently cast to replace Nicholson as Goldblum’s partner.

Did you know that Law & Order: Criminal Intent is only shown on the NBC subsidiary USA Network now? They don’t even show it on Big Boy NBC anymore. Weird. Anyway, it is clear that I have not been keeping very close tabs on my Law & Order: Criminal Intent news if I didn’t even know that it was only on the USA Network, so how could I conscionably choose the best farewell Vincent D’Onofrio YouTube fan montage? No, the best thing to do is to provide you with a selection after the jump, and allow you to pick the one that is right for you.

R.I.P. Vincent D’Onofrio.

  1. Jeff Golblum alone, who owns the youth, gains the future

  2. And also, where was Chris Noth a.k.a. “Detective Bigs” farewell videos?

  3. THANKS FOR RUINING MY DAY. FIRST MY HOUSE GETS FORECLOSED ON AND NOW THIS. THANKS GABE. THANKS A LOT.

    *weeps*

    • This actually made my day. I bought house on the cheap this morning and just found out that Vincent D’Onofrio played Thor in Adventures in Babysitting (where have i been??). Things are looking up! Thanks Gabe!

  4. Bobby Goren’s bending over sideways at the waist in heaven now, just to get all up in the angels’ faces so they’ll betray the flaws in their almost-perfect murder plots.

  5. Teddy Geiger or die. He’s a Love Monkey.

  6. It’s like a suit. An Edgar suit. An Edgar suit of grief!

I hate seeing Bogosian and Goldblum having to work at McDonald’s, I really do….

  8. I can’t wait for the L&O:C I and Monk crossover episodes. It’ll be a neurotic battle of wills between Jeff Goldblum and Tony Shalhoub. My money’s on Goldblum every time.

  9. Wow, eight seasons? Private Pyle, what is your major malfunction?

  10. I prefer the last one. It’s good to go out on a more upbeat, rockin’ note that reminds us of the good times.

  11. They filmed in my store once. VD’O, as it turns out, is larger than any man you’ve ever met. Like an overacting refrigerator.

  12. although criminal intent is my least favorite of the law and order franchise, i do like what d’onofrio brings to the show. first noth, now d’onofrio and erbe? :(

  13. You know, I’ll be looking for a clip on youtube from any of my favorite shows, and I’ll think I have found it, only to find it is a montage set to enya and then I’ll feel really embarrassed for opening it even though I didn’t mean to.

  14. I’ve never seen VD’O in “L&O” but he was rather hot in Mystic Pizza. (Do people not really call him VD’O? Gabe, you tricked me!)

  15. VD’O and Erbe are the only reason that show is still around. This is sad, but eh. The day Hargitay and Meloni are gone is the day I will really be upset.

  16. does anyone else just watch the first minute or so of the reruns and change the channel if it is not a ‘fat goren’ episode? once he turned that corner, goren became a legit madman. r.i.p. fat goren.

They are all really awesome it’s hard to choose. Going retro with Simply The Best is just . . . . . The Best.

  18. He looks like the kind of guy that would fuck a person in the ass and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around.

  19. The VD’O store?

  20. what’s going on with us when many people will independently be so moved by the departure of a creepy actor from his deeply mediocre show that they have to express their feelings in video montage form, and yet most people don’t vote unless it’s a presidential election? so much sad-faceness on my face. we all need more important things to pour our time and creativity into. (she said self-righteously, as she ate bread pudding and drank tea in a cafe, in the middle of a work day.)

  21. sorry if i skimmed over it, but i’ve yet to see VD’Ogum. so — VD’OGUM

  22. SO SORRY TO SEE VINCENT LEAVING!HE WAS THE SHOW.I WILL MISS HIM.
HOPE TO SEE HIM ON THE BIG SCREEN.
