“7th grader Melissa Bell gives a tender account of meeting Ashton Kutcher at a school dance.” Self-insertion slash fiction is always best when it is written by children.

Oh wow. I saw this story (written, not read) on a blog months ago. Think I even had it bookmarked for a while.
It’s even better hearing it dramatized. My favorite part is the constant search for new adjectives to replace “said”.
It’s from McSweeney’s, ages ago. I recognized it right away from the title and was worried it was a ripoff at first: http://www.mcsweeneys.net/2008/2/7wayne.html
If by adjectives, you mean verbs, then Lots of Love, because you’re so right! KIDZ 2DAY!
/sorry
=)
i can’t believe this, she stole that from me and all she did was replace Asthon Kuther with John Goodman, I’m so mad right now.
shit i put the names in the wrong order, i was quite the silly goose when i made that blunder
Duck puns belong in the other thread, mister.
This isn’t fiction. I was that Earth Science teacher. I saw how important this was to Melissia and Ashton, and I’d be damned if I were to let the 12-inch rule supersede true love!
I am British. What is “Earth Science”?

In the United Kingdom, “context clues” are called “biscuits.”
The only thing weirder than John Hodgman in drag is John Hodgman in 13 year-old girl drag.
Do I have to go to jail now?
The period line made me laugh, feel for the girl, and make me feel like a monster simultaneously. I don’t even know what to say. I assume this was fake because it was on comedy central, but it does make me think. I spend far too much time watching goofy people do vlogs on youtube and selfishly laugh at their misfortune. Is this a victimless crime as I convince myself, or am I contributing to their misery which causes them to vlog in the first place. Back and forth forever.
The keywords for this post made me Lots of Love at first, but now that I think about it…
(but a Little of Loves as well still)
As someone who used to read a lot of fan fiction (forgive me, I was but a child), I could tell from the start this was not real. She was too self-aware of her Mary Sue-ness.
So is this the new Twilight?
