Jake Lloyd is a 20-year-old young man who is like a lot of 20-year-old young men. He went to high school, and suffered the casual cruelties and careless aggressions of adolescence. He took a year off and is now in college, where he finds himself once again disappointed by the small, mean-spirited nature of his classmates. It has always struck him as odd how quickly and how slavishly people will chose one thing about you to focus on relentlessly and without end, but that just seems to be the way things are, and there are many people who have it far worse than Jake Lloyd. He’s caustic, and funny, and he has no idea what he wants to do when he grows up, but he’s trying not to worry about that too much right now because he knows that he is young and that he has time to find his path. Sure, there are things about his past that he sees in a different light now, but he probably wouldn’t change anything, because it’s all part of the experience of being alive. And he recognizes that complaining about what’s already done is just energy wasted. Jake Lloyd has both eyes open. He’s just a regular, bright 20-year-old trying to find his place in the world, like thousands of others.
Oh, and he played Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

I love the air quotes around “friend’s house,” as if it’d be so uncool to say “Neverland Ranch’s Naboo-themed movie screening carousel.”
I would be the Padme to his sad, haunted Anakin.
I am going to upvote everything you say because of your “Fuck The World tattoo” avatar.
Avatar? Do we have avatars on videogum? I’ve been spending too much time on message boards.
I heard he went to Columbia Chicago and the experience was so bad(lots of death threats/harassment) for him that he left after one semester.
I was not aware that he went to the same college as me!
What kind of death threats was he getting? “I’m gonna rip your head off you youngling-massacring son of a bitch!!”
every vaguely artistic person in chicago went to columbia for AT LEAST a semester. me included.
i could see this happening though, between the student films and shitty poetry readings, there’s plenty of time for death threats.
Jingle All The Way. Yeah, that’s right Jake, we’ve not forgotten.
Poor dude. He must always feel the constant hate of nerds all over the world.
“What’s wrong?”
“I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and never shut up.”
He’s gonna end up being just fine. kad-dooz young Jedi.
At least he was a better actor than Hayden Christensen
I thought this was going to be a follow-up on the one, true “Star Wars Kid.”
Oh me too! I was like ‘please let it be the Star Wars kid, please let it be the Star Wars kid.’ Let’s Where Are They Now? that kid. Let’s find him. THIS guy’s gonna be fine, look, he’s already all growed up!
He’s so nice, how does he ever become Darth Vader?
He was really good in Unhook the Stars

Wow… I’ll take that as a yes. Do I owe you all an apology now?
I just hope we don’t see him and Edward Furlong beating each other silly in one of those celebrity boxing TV shows.
Didn’t he learn anything? Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.
Ah, but first: fear leads to anger
He seems sort of bitter and angry about being picked on in high school.
Sort of.
I can’t wait until Elian Gonzalez and Shirley Temple Black make a video
He thinks he had it rough, he should hear the memories Jar-Jar Binks has of high school.
He seems less bitter than Jar Jar
If Anakin goddamn Skywalker uses cheats, I won’t feel bad about it anymore.
is that nathan lane’s son?
He still says “podracer” the same…
