For those of you who made it this year, this video brings back a lot of great memories. For those of us who couldn’t be there for one reason or another, this is just another powerful incentive to make sure nothing stands in the way of a great MLPC 2014. (Thanks for the tip, JCA.)

  1. Wow. Just wow.

  2. IS TODAY PONY DAY???!?!?

  3. Could the blonde-wig guy be anymore weird? I feel like I’m looking at a b-movie version of a Kurt Cobain lookalike.

  4. Whoa, so Bronies have really good taste in music, too.

  5. disappointingly few people dressed up in those classic duo horse costumes

  6. Basically a karaoke rave, then?

  7. My favourite part was when they guy fell down at the beginning trying to avoid the crazy jumping hoodie stripper.

  8. Dibs on soulful guitar playing Brony at 1:15

  9. Bronies are a really frightening subculture.

    • Bronies are the new Juggalos.

    • Agreed. I always though Juggalos were frightening but this is on a whole ‘nother level.

    • What is their core concept though? I’ve never seen a more disorganized, shambling, nothing in common subculture before. It’s like they are all the people who have tried to fit in with any of the hundreds of other subcultures where people have bonded into a cohesive cultural collection.

Speaking of such things: Should I make a Borg costume and start wearing it to work every day, and use “we” instead of “I”?

      • probably, unless you work in a cube shaped building, then it might be a bit too on the nose

      • their core concept is being a bunch of dudes that don’t get laid? Or are on the edge of being a furry? Or just are furries, but very specific ones.

      • Ex-brony here.

Honestly, I believe it stems from a sort of social awkwardness, coupled with the bonding power of the Internet. The show itself is good, but nothing special, though it gives many bronies a chance to feel like they are transcending their supposed masculinity, which leads to them feeling special in a world in which they’ve genuinely felt pretty disconnected. Unfortunately, a lot of them seem to be genuinely bitter about it, which has led to the unfortunate intersection of bronies with “nice guys” and MRAs.

Also, they really like dubstep. Like A LOT. Every second of the show gets made into a dubstep mix.

  10. My husband: “I have to DJ tonight. Should I wear the fedora or the gas mask?”
    Me: OR?!?!?!

  11. Neighers gonna neigh

  12. I actually can’t stop watching this… the cut from the guy falling/dropping to the ground to the mostly-empty convention room with a handful of brightly colored people jumping around is perfect

  13. What are little kids doing at a My Little Pony convention?
