Do you guys ever try to make funny animal videos? I’m mostly asking because I have to think of something to say in this preamble before we get to the actual animal video meat of the post, but I’m also wondering WHO IS MAKING ALL THESE ANIMAL VIDEOS? People who love watching animal videos and want to make their own (you guys, maybe)? People who just happen to think their pet is funny and know the Internet is a good place for stuff like that? People who just catch a one-off funny moment? A combination of those, and probably a few other things? Probably! But are any of them you? Please feel free to share any homemade animal videos with the rest of the class if you happen to have any on the ‘net. I’d be interested to see what your pet is like. (Jumpy? Lazy? Suspicious? THE WORST?) Until then, LET’S CHECK OUT THESE ANIMAL VIDEOS FROM STRANGEEERRRSSS!
[Ed. note: I know it is cold comfort at a time like this, but I think we could all use a little light-hearted relief from the crippling sense of loss we feel over the death of Hugo Chavez. Enjoy!]

2. Damn It Feels Good To Be This Guy
1. “Tongue Problem”
I don’t know, man — “tongue problem” just GOT ME! Love it. Really I think the videos in the top five today are all especially good. Number two was tipped to us by a man named Johnny, and probably someone is moving the dogs head I guess?, but also that dog looks chill as hell. I showed “dog walks like a human” to a friend last night as he was walking out of the apartment and he paused for a second and said, “Oh, I don’t like videos like that” and then left, which is very very funny to me. The moment in the orangutan video when the little sweetie comes over and sits on the guy’s lap and puts his arm around his leg — R U KIDDING ME? And, finally, puppy bath time is just classic. Obviously. CONGRATULATIONS TO US!

The baby Husky was the best. The little noise he made after the howl, like “Hey, that sounded pretty good,” killed me.
Seriously! #1 in my heart.
Just the still for the Goat vs Kitten video was enough for me! Too cute! Both those animals get one thousand pats on the head from me for being so cute just in a still!
I’ve watched it and I now see that it’s a very antagonistic situation and not the interspecies friendship I was hoping for. I also like that the other cat was like “F this S” and hid under the bus. Still, that puffed up kitten was very cute, but I wouldn’t risk my hand to pet it.
I would but that is because I find cats at their most adorable when their rage burns with the fire of a thousand suns.
I just value my unpunctured skin too much. I used to catsit (gentlemen?!) for a cat who had a little bobtail, and when she would get mad it would puff up and look like a little toilet bowl brush and it was precious. This concludes this episode of “Flanny is A Single Woman Who Loves Cats.”
I spent my whole time watching the video thinking “tiny kitty stop! goats are mean!”
I bet Kelly’s friend went home and all of his wallpaper was dogs walking like humans and his computer is all open tabs of dogs walking like humans. Probably cause I’ve been watching a lot of TV.
Dr. Feelgood, I like the way you think.
I keep posting Dr. Feelgood fan comments and so I might as well ask because you mentioned your Twitter – what is your Twitter and is your Tweet work consistent?
Ha, thanks imsteph! It’s @bestofozguillen and it’s going to disappoint you! It started as a novelty account where I would just retweet my favorite incoherent tweets from former Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen (great great novelty acct). But I stopped and it’s just there now.
What you might not know about Goat v. Kitten is that Goat was paid to take a dive in the third.
So, to answer Kelly’s question, my cats do funny things until I try to take a pic or record them. Then they stop and look at me like I’m the crazy one. Well, who was pawing at the tv, cat? Not me!
Mine immediately investigate the camera and rub their faces on it, resulting in a forced fisheye effect. Stop that and go back to being funny and/or cute!
When that walking dog went straight-up Gangnam Style…that was the best.
Maybe it’s just my current frame of mind, but several of these videos made me very anxious. For example, cheetah licks photographer. My cat licks me like that and it always ends with him biting me. ALWAYS. But, he’s a cat so it just kind of hurts and does not involve me losing my face. I know this is cute animal videos and it wouldn’t end like that, but I was still a little worried. Also, sweet little orangutan attack. Starts out cute and ends with 20 cute orangutan’s showing up and tearing the guy apart. And, dog walks like a human. I don’t like those videos either. That’s some straight up Animal Farm shit right there.
On the topic of animal videos, I only have one that involves my cat watching Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore (I know, but I have a small child and it was on and he needed to be distracted) on TV and looking very engrossed by the plot, and another that features my dog barking at me while I play the french horn. Never posted them though. Figured the internet had enough.
A comment that I am sure will be downvoted, but whatevs: baby organgutangs look like they have progeria. #justsayingwhateverybody’sthinking
Baby orangutans, on the other hand…
That cat with the tongue problem has insanely beautiful green eyes, I can’t even handle it!
