Not a break FROM Helen Mirren, that wouldn’t make any sense, but a break from things like this and this, during which we get to gather ourselves and listen to Helen Mirren say a few super chill things. Deal? From Celebitchy:
“I’d been watching America’s Top Model which I’m obsessed by,” she told BBC Breakfast while promoting her new play The Audience.
“This girl had her pink hair and I noticed because it came out really quickly so there she is with really pink hair and then five days later it’s all gone so I thought that would be cool, I might have a go at that”.
Mirren, who is taking up the role once more of the Queen, insists that she doesn’t want to be only known for playing the monarch after having starred in Stephen Frears’ critically acclaimed 2006 movie.
“I didn’t want to become the actress who plays the Queen if you know what I mean, I don’t think that’s very nice for me and it’s not very nice for the Queen,” she said.

I bet you didn’t even notice that it rhymed until I put in the slashes! Now you know, and you are welcome. Very very good rhymes! And a wonderful quote about why she dyed her hair pink with no added punctuation that makes it seem like it came from a 20-year-old on coke. Love that Helen Mirren loves ANTM. Genuinely love everything presented here in this excerpt. Feeling better already. Ok, BREAK OVER!

It was very patriotic of her to be inspired by a contestant from the British Invasion cycle of ANTM. Also a good, choice because Sophie was one of the few people in the history of America’s Next Top Model who actually deserved her win. Thumbs up, H.Mirr!

I successfully stopped watching ANTM because Tyra fired Nigel and the Jays and that’s just not ok.

It didn’t bother me that they switched up the panel (although I do miss Miss Jay), but Kelly Cutrone and Bryan Boy are so obnoxious. If you are going to switch it up, this is not the way.

Along with Warm Bodies, Modelland was one of the book we read to each other on long, lonely nights at Barnes & Noble. The main character signs her letters or whatever, “Fierce & Love, Tookie.” FIERCE AND LOVE!!!!! Those aren’t even the same parts of speech! Please, someone explain to me what she means because it has been bothering me for literally two long years and I don’t think I can take it much longer!!!! ARRRRGHHHH! TYYYYYRRRRAAAAAAA!!!

Ask your sis about her lucky lucite heels!! She’s super funny about them. (She bought lucite heels at a drag queen store on Hollywood Blvd. a few years ago and by a jinx she wore then when she was winning for stuff. So she calls them her lucky lucite heels and only drags them out — then makes a drag queen pun — for events she actually wants to win. Lady is FUNNY.)
