You guys, there’s an artist named Jay Schmetz who paints animals doing human things. He does paintings on commission (for not that much), and this year, my fiance and I are commissioning a painting of Duke, maybe reading a book/drinking wine. I mean, look:
I’m kind of embarrassed about it, but I am also so excited. We may end up hiding it in a bathroom, but we will love it.

I just finished a painting of our cocker spaniel Little Bear who lost his battle with pneumonia right before Thanksgiving. I was going to give it to my youngest as a Christmas gift since he was LB’s best buddy, but my husband thinks it’s too sad to be a Christmas gift. I don’t know.
Kate, it IS sad. But is also a wonderful, meaningful gift. Just make sure to pair it with upbeat, awesome, super razz-matazz (yep, I went there) gift to mitigate the sads.

i used to paint in high school and college. mainly stuff for my family and roommates who wanted fun stuff to hang on the wall. then I ran out of wall space and gave away a few of my favorites to friends. one just recently moved away and said he was going to sell my stuff on Etsy and that kind of peeved me. i could’ve been doing it the whole time and now here he is, about to make money off of me without even asking!
i should probably have my lawyers follow up….or maybe get into this racket. not one to brag, but looking at some of the stuff on there, my shit was better.

It sure does! “Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.” And these earrings are not cheap, thanks! They’re very sturdy and each bottle cap gets a lot of work and treatment. Sorry you don’t like them, but you shouldn’t insult someone else’s art so blatantly!
