  1. That list of the 100 worst movie titles isn’t all that great. The have “Men Who Stare at Goats” and “No” listed twice. Plus, I think some of the movies they listed because they hate the movie, not the title.

That said, “Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!” and “Phfft!” are probably my favorite movie titles now.

  2. I’m sorry, but Freddie Got Fingered is NOT a bad movie title!

    Neither are:
Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer
    I ♥ Huckabees
    Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
So I Married an Ax Murderer
    The Hudsucker Proxy
    The World Is Not Enough
    Martha Marcy May Marlene
    Matchstick Men
    The Shawshank Redemption

Also, those geniuses put The Men Who Stare at Goats on there twice. Proof-read your shit, internet!

Btw, “The World is Not Enough” is on the Bond family crest!

    • It feels REALLY good to be up in arms about THIS shit.

    • Also, Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones is clearly the worst Star Wars sub-title, not ‘The Phantom Menace.’

Also, has everyone forgotten Row Your Boat?

    • COUNTERPOINT: “Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium” is a terrrrrrrible title. It sounds like a parody from The Simpsons, like that Troy McClure movie, “The Fantabulous Contraption of Professor Horatio Hufnagel.” It’s mind-bendingly awful.

So, to recap: Right now I am both incensed at how inaccurate that Top 100 is, because “The World Is Not Enough” is a great title for ANYTHING, AND I’m incensed that a movie got named “Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium.”

      • Ad strangely enough, for some reason The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus escapes the title trappings that MMWE falls prey to (and only imho, people are welcome to disagree and say they’re both awful).

This may be because it’s an unwieldy title yet it refrains from cuteness, rhyming and alliteration. It does not want to be sold to the masses.

        • Good points! If it were just “Doctor Parnassus” or even just “The Imaginarium,” it would even be a decent title. It’s all of it strung together that turns twee and harassing. So maybe the list-makers viewed it as two decent titles instead of one problem and let it go.

  3. They left out “Smilla’s Sense of Snow”

  4. Best GIF from last night

  5. Benedict DOES have a gooood voice. Like, whoa. Also, has anyone seen that mini-series where he played Stephen Hawking? I’ve heard it’s good.
