You guys, just try to keep some perspective; regardless of who wins tonight, it won’t change the fact that we are less than one month away from the day that we are allowed to consume our own weight in turkey and cranberry sauce that retains the shape of the can. And that is awesome.
And then we will be less than one month away from destruction because 2012. #silverlinings

Foooooooddddd! I am so excited for all the casseroles I will consume. But guys! I just had a really interesting conversation over the weekend with some people from very different areas of the country, and we discussed our respective Thanksgiving meals and the foods consumed, and there were so many regional differences! Soo, Monsters, what kinds of stuff do y’all eat at Thanksgiving? Being Southern, in addition to the turkey and dressing/stuffing, we have so many casseroles! Squash casserole, pineapple casserole, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, the list goes on!
We don’t eat anything “traditional” at Thanksgiving in my family. Everyone makes something and we do a pot luck. This year I brought seafood lasagna and mashed rutabaga.
For a second I was like, is Fatima a time traveler? But then I remember, no, just Canadian!
I cannot believe that pineapple casserole is a real thing. The green bean one has been a staple in my family since forever, as well as the sweet potato kind – as long as you are referring to the one with marshmallows on top. In recent years roasted brussel sprouts has become a thing for us also, which is odd because we never ate them growing up. But their pretty great when done right (bacon).
My theme this year is “boozy thanksgiving”- all food will be cooked in some kind of alcohol. Beer bread! Bourbon glaze! Drunk soup!

Speaking of Testla coils *nerdalert*, I hung out with a bunch of engineers and scientists this weekend *doublenerdalert* and they were discussing the possibility of making an electricity band out of tesla coils and apparently fire can be used as an amplifier under the right circumstances?? themoreyouknow.jpg

I sent my absentee ballot in last week, yaay! Bummed I don’t get a sticker though. They should send you a sticker in the mail. That way you can confirm that they received your ballot too! I think I will run for Supervisor of Elections in my county next time and institute this sticker confirmation policy. #VOTESUMMER4SUPERVISOR #STICKERS4ALL
I voted too and there was no sticker and no lever! Boooooooo. Voting is stupid. Just kidding it’s great. But I wanted a sticker and to pull a lever.
