Chris Rock made a documentary about African American hair culture called Good Hair. It premiered at Sundance and it looks interesting and funny. Like Barbershop but without all the being so dumb. And with no chance of a painful Queen Latifah spin-off franchise.

    Looks super interesting. My husband once made the mistake of telling his black female coworker (jokingly) that her hair was looking “nappy” and boy did she flip out. She said white folks should never use that word. Who knew?

    • Seriously? Seriously? Did he, an adult man, jokingly tell his East Asian coworkers that their eyes were looking chinky?

      Jesus.

  2. We had a discussion about this in my social psych class a couple weeks ago. My professor said black women straightened their hair because “white is beautiful” and straightening your hair is racist.

  3. If I saw a woman with an afro at a law firm, my first thought would not be “She doesn’t look put together.” My first thought would be, “That is so awesome. I wish I could grow an afro.” What are those girls doing to each other?
