Apparently, this animated commercial for a dentist, “Dr. Dove Rocks,” has been tickling the citizens of Bakersfield, California by running on the air constantly. Any children who weren’t afraid of the dentist before certainly are now:
Pro tip for Dr. Dove: try not to mention “pain” or show evil monsters with sharp weapons if you’re trying to lure kids to your dental lair. And shut up about the “toys” in the treasure chest. Even a slow five year old knows it’s just full of new toothbrushes. (Thanks for the tip, Indiana!)

I always got Pog’s when I left the dentist office as a kid.
I like the kid throwing up the horns at the end.
also, this is way nitpicky, but I find myself distracted by Dr. Dove knocking one plaque monster into another one’s pickaxe path to vanquish it. as though he is claiming he somehow turns the plaque in your mouth against itself? i don’t know.
Is this an ad for a pedophile? Do they advertise now?
I always got bouncy balls and stickers!
I’m a fan of the Tiger graphics in the mouth.
Yes, but does he rock?
As a soon to be dentist, I can assure you that pedodontists are appreciated because working on screaming, writhing, confused children sucks. But I would never, ever, ever, refer a child to this dentist. Why? Because playing air guitar on a toothbrush is not what helps you identify with children.
I appreciate you, crentist, for that awesome office reference.
This plays so often and it’s stuck in my head on the constant.
Thank you for the post.I sincerely hope they make their way to dental offices. I will visit the website.
Hey, Okay Dr. Dove is my dad. And Im sorry you must either be another pathetic dentist who feels threatened by him and his incredibly successful business, or you’re a lazy woman/man who has too much time on his or her hands to go and try to scare little kids because he has plenty of patients and plenty of “toys in his treasure chest” so if you think that telling people there are just “tooth brushes” in the chest than your wrong and extremely pathetic to have to say something to idiotic just to try and get his business to slow.
Well, that wont happen he is already booked 3 months in advanced so if you think youre stupid little website is going to do anything you are greatly mistaken. If you are doing anything its giving him business. So keep going !
Good luck, maybe go get a job!

What’s wrong with Dr. Dove? The people ripping on him are just pissed off at their own lives. They look in the mirror every morning and their sub conscience tells them that they are pathetic losers. Crentist has probably already flunked out of dental school by now and spends most of his time going through the dumpster looking for aluminum cans. What a gimp.
I like the Dr. Dove adds so piss off gimp. Dr. Dove Rocks!
I for one am highly offended by the comment made on here by Lindsay, I believe. How dare you say even a slow 5 year old knows the treasure box is just full of toothbrushes. I can not believe you would stoop so low as to bash someone at the expense of a handicap child. You are pond scum! I have a six year old that is extremely bright, and she gets excited every time she sees the commercial, and says that she wants to go to Dr. Dove and get a toy out of the box. Apparently Dr. Dove is doing something right, because my child has never been excited about going to any Doctor until we moved to this area and she saw his commercial on TV. Now if you had something to write about stating medical facts of why someone should not visit a particular office, readers might be interested. You sound like a disgruntled adult that is angry cause you didn’t get the toy you were hoping for out of the treasure box, and your mentality level sounds of that, less than a 5 year old. You make me sick, and if you keep talking about handicap children the way you do, maybe one day someone will set you straight and you will need to visit Dr. Dove yourself for a set of dentures. May your teeth be infested with a million sugar bugs!

Another FB Page. Thank you.

……and Dr. Dove DOES NOT ROCK!!!!!!!!!
Dr Dove’s Staff is freakin’ awesome. They were so good with my son (my son has ASD and usually does not like to cooperate with doctors). Dr Lara and her hygenists were so caring and patient with my son. They answered all of our questions and my son’s. He loved the visit and best of all no cavities! I would recommend this place for anyone with kids! Dr. Dove Rocks!!! Just like the commercials say!
Oh yah… the toys were pretty cool and they werent brushes… they were actual toys you would find in a supermarket gumball machine. my son thinks the little monsters were hillarious.
It sounds to me that the bad reviews are being posted by upset parents that #1 dont understand that medicine isnt perfect and that there are risks with any procedure and #2 they werent asking questions or listening to staff when the procedures are explained as well as pre and post op instructions and care. Lastly I trust what the professionals there tell me… not the parents who are simply making assumptions for the news cameras of what they feel are best dental practices and really have no clue what they are talking about.
