OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. Hold onto your butts! Get ready to be catapulted into your weekend flying on the projectile wings of the news about a possible Downton Abbey prequel from Julian Fellowes you guyyyyeeeesss! Take a deep breath! Sit down! Spit out your gum! From The Daily Mail:
‘I do have an idea of doing a prequel of the courtship between Robert and Cora,’ he said at the Bafta Screenwriting Lecture.
‘It is a fascinating time when the Buccaneers were coming to England and marrying [aristocrats].
‘Cora was in love with him before they married but as we know he only fell in love with her about a year after they married.
‘He married her purely for the money. I think that is something he came to feel quite guilty about.’ Fellowes said he was initially planning the tale to be a novel to accompany the series, but is likely ITV will to adapt it for television too.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat! A novel to accompany the series first? LIKE ANYONE WANTS TO READ A BOOK? Put that shit in images in front of my face on a TV, like I want it! And make sure to give it a good name, like Saved By The Bell: The College Years, except reverse. My ideas are these:

Maybe Caroline is a nun in an actual functioning Abbey circa 1400 or so. Just a young nun trying to make it in the Abbey… Has an on-again/off-again flirtation with a beer-brewing monk.
To be fair, this wouldn’t be a TV show as much as a long-lost manuscript that was painstakingly written out over like 3-5 years.
2 episodes inot the new season and it’s very good, already a vast improvement over S2 (no face-missing imposters, as least not yet).
