[Assoc. Ed. Note: I feel like I should mention that Frank Lloyd Wrong's Peggy Window GIF was actually rated higher than this #1 Frank Lloyd Wrong comment, but, even though that was a very good GIF, we all know the rule about GIFs. And what do you want, Frank Lloyd Wrong? TWO #1s? Give us all a break. Congratulations first, of course, but then second: give us a break. Also congratulations to everyone else! Yay! Weekend!]

[Ed. Note: Perhaps we might be able to interest you in one of the HUNDREDS OF OTHER POSTS WE PUT UP EVERY WEEK. If you know that you don't like it, just don't read it. Unless someone has a gun to your head in which case I'm so sorry someone has a gun to your head and for what?! To read a blog post? The world is insane!]

I’m not sure that’s a Labyrinth-themed wedding. I think that is a Poison-themed wedding, which would make him CC DeVille, not David Bowie, and she’s Rikki Rockett. Some internet prankster has paired them with a scene from a totally unrelated movie just to make them look foolish. You could do this with any wedding photo, really, to make any couple look foolish. |

[Assoc. Ed. Note: "You could do this with any wedding photo, really, to make any couple look foolish," is just one of the funniest things I've read ANYWHERE all week. Great job, hotspur. I've sent to multiple people and made them read it. "Look at how funny this comment is," is what I'd say to preface it.]

[Ed. Note: This week we have TWO editor's choice winners because they're both great. Got a couple of cultural commentary sharp-shooters on our hands LOOKOUT! But seriously, guys, there are too many vampires on TV and it is ridiculous that everyone can't be married. Sometimes you gotta just face the facts. LOL?]

Have a great weekend, stay grinding.
Yay! I made it to MB! Second time and first time as Editor’s Choice! Have a great weekend everyone!

CONGRATS, BALLERS. Have nice weekends everyone! I hope you have nice things planned! I’m going out tonight with one of my best gals to get some barbecue and watch that Miss White and Mr. Man movie. And tomorrow I plan on being VERY VERY productive and working out and doing laundry and SEARCHING FOR A JOB THAT DOESN’T KILL MY SOUL. Have fun. Make good life choices.
I’m living our collective dream and having a GIRLS’ NIGHT SLUMBER PARTY tomorrow!!!!!
Ohhh, you jerk! I’m so jealous! Have fun!!! Please giggle and eat a some ice cream for me!
I’ve been marinating veggies to make mini-pizzas, have loads of fresh fruit and fancy cheeses, gin and tonic with frozen berries instead of ice cubes, and Haagen Daas. We’re going to paint wine glasses to look like bejeweled goblets, run around the park in our pjs, hold a seance, play Truth or Dare and Girl Talk, and prank call people! You are invited in spirit…
I can’t believe Kelly picked me! WOW. I’ve never been so excited today!!
I will have a flash mob ready to express my gratitude for this humbling honor by tomorrow.
Anybody going to the Nick Offerman comedy thingy in Chicago tomorrow?
Hooray for everyone! But I give an extra special hooray to straightman’s Shia LeBoof comment that made me laugh all the way through lunch, alone at my desk, which is the best way to spend one’s lunch hour.
Aww, thanks, capsulekei. And thanks everyone for the up-votes. I was going to make you all friendship bracelets but since I don’t really know you guys, here’s a link to a how to page. Just make yourselves one and pretend it’s from me. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Friendship-Bracelet
I just want to say that I think this needs to become a new meme. It’s Michael Fassbender from Prometheus holding things.
that meme would have made a better movie than what we got with “Prometheus”.
More, please!!!
You got it.
Whats it look like as far as getting some more Hunt for worst movie jammers and/or You Get to Make up the Story shooters? Do we got to start up a kick starter fund to pay the writers to come up with more of these? I nominate Chip Trash to head the organizing of the kick starter fundraising effort. Chop chop.
You Get To Make It Up
Steve Winwood was wandering through the forest one day when he noticed a fairy, its wings a spectographic blur of delight, making love to a dandelion.
“Oy!” said Steve Winwood in a calm and pleasant voice. “What are you doing to that innocent dandelion and might I participate in whatever it is?”
Alas, the fucking of dandelions is attached in some arcane way to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, in that one cannot view the dandelion fucking without effecting the results. Some have posited that the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle itself was crafted from the greenleaves and puresap of the Initial Wood but this hypothesis has yet to be supported by the Elves of the Pruven Hypothetickal.
In short, at the very moment the words left the lips of Steve Winwood, the dandelion exploded into a thousand floating fragments of whiteness and the fairy, batting at the bits of fluff floating in the air, angrily queried, “Dude! Can’t a guy get some privacy?”
The End
I think this is a great idea. I took the liberty of coming up with some incentives:
10$ level- Steve Winwood or Thisismynightmare comment “she’s pretty” or “I’d hit that” in one of your Facebook pictures.
20$ level- Frank Lloyd Wrong makes a pun based on your name and occupation.
50$ level- Mans calls you and reads you a ghost story.
70$ level- Patrick M makes you a personalized gif with the dancing animal of your choice.
100$ level- Facetaco leaves 500 comments in your blog.
150$ level – Photoshop lessons from Notsewfast
200$ level – Lawblog writes a song based on your comments.
250$ level private screening of Gummo and Q&A with Steve WInwood
300$ level- Little Bobby Tables knits you a sweater with your avatar picture
These are just the ones off the top of my head. I’m sure all the monsters will be happy to contribute. Chop chop, Mr. Trash.
Gabe used the Monster’s Ball last week to exclaim “There are too many podcasts!” And, you know, he’s right. There are a LOT. I’ve been listening to podcasts since late 2007 when I finally bough an ipod, and was subscribed to over 50 podcasts in the fall of 2010.
That is when I had to pack up my house and couch surf for four months as I worked at my new job and apartment hunted. By the time I found a place, unpacked my computer (I would’ve killed for a laptop), got my internet back up and running, and hit the refresh tab in my iTunes, a little under 700 podcasts downloaded. “Good lord,” I whispered aloud to myself.
It’s been six months since then, and through listening to this backlog of podcasts, trying out and subscribing to newer podcasts, listening to the new episodes of my existing subscriptions that have been getting posted regularly this whole time, and unsubscribing to the ones I realized I was never going to get around to listening to, I’ve been able to whittle that number down to around 280 unlistened to podcasts (with most shows having hour-long episodes posted weekly, and are still downloading new episodes!).
I’m now subscribed to around 42-43 podcasts, and I’d like to recommend one: It’s called 99% Invisible. It’s akin to your This American Lifes or your Radiolabs, but focuses on DESIGN. I don’t know on average how aware we all are of this, but most of what we interact with day in and day out was designed. It initially broadcasts on the radio in San Francisco, I believe. The show is a lot of fun, and the available episodes on iTunes date back to late 2010.
99% Invisible is bi-weekly (once every two weeks). It’s usually about 7 minutes long, and every 5th or 6th episode is a little longer ( around 12 minutes, occasionally 21 minutes). “Check it out,” is what I say.
Whoops! I meant the fall of 2011. Not 2010.
Jeebus, that is a lot of podcasts. Thanks for that recommendation, sounds interesting!
GUYS. No one is going to see this because it’s Saturday night, but I was out drinking yesterday and didn’t get to see that I got my first Monster’s Ball! I feel so special. Also, badideajeans and kajusX & Chainsaws deserve credit for making much better chokes.
Congratulations!!! You deserve it! I absolutely adored all the Stefon jokes in that thread!
chokes? really? ok, i might have been drunk when i wrote that.
