The new Judd Apatow movie doesn’t come out until Christmas, but it still seems stupid to wait an entire week for the Friday Trailer Round Up to talk about it just because it was released two hours too late. Soooooo? Talk about it!

  1. That’s not 40. THAT is the face and body that only fame can buy. THIS is 40:

Detailed instructions on how to prove to someone that they’ve wasted the better part of their life by being closely acquainted with awful, awful people.

  2. The movie is about how Paul Rudd looks the same at 43 that he did at 25 right?

  3. I crossed my fingers for the duration of the trailer in hopes that Katherine Heigl would not rear her sullen brow. The fingers did not disappoint.

    • Really? I actually think Katherine Heigl has a very attractive face. That’s probably the only part of her I DON’T have a problem with.

  4. “If that was 40, this is me leaving the theater!” -Future disgruntled critic guy

  5. Does anyone else have a problem with some of Apatow’s story arcs? I enjoy his movies but there’s always that part in his films where I’m like oh no, here we have to have the go through the protagonists “depressed” montage and deal with him turning his life around/fixing problems? Obviously he’s not the only one to do this (it’s in almost every Hollywood movie) but they seem out of place in his films and tend to drag.

  6. this movie is not appealing to me at all.

  7. Apatow’s too adult-oriented to do this, but it would be interesting to see this film made from the kids’ perspectives. Essentially having parents’ guilty midlife crises thrust upon them at random.

I say this because the rash banning of technology and sudden evangelizing of “imagination” was the most interesting part of that preview. It could have been “This Is Your Patents at 40.”
