Here’s the trailer for Breaking Upwards, a part-documentary/part-fictional (cough! mumblecore! cough!) indie about love in New York, starring a real-life couple who also made the movie. And who ride bikes holding hands while talking about relationships:

Just like The Dark Knight! Breaking Upwards premieres at SXSW next month. (Gabe says he’s going to wait for the IMAX version next summer, though.)

Will the movie address how this charmingly-attired young heterosexual couple got SO RICH?
It would be more accurate if they were twittering and tumbling everything and then re-tweeting and re-tumbling each other while they both worked on book proposals of their respective sides of the story hoping to beat the other to the punch. Then the internet rose up and swallowed them, the end.
i used to hate sexson back when he hit 40 home runs a year for milwaukee (approximately 37 each year against the cubs).
also, i can almost see myself enjoying this movie, as it appears to be an amazing recreation of what my most recent ex-girlfriend and i would look like if we hadn’t gotten tired of fighting and broken it off.

i’m trying to make my interest in this movie seem waaaay casual – so you can’t tell if i actually want to see it or not. i’m not going to be the first to admit to UNIRONICALLY thinking this looks pretty good.

For some reason this trailer made me think of the Eric Stoltz flick “Mr Jealousy”, only that movie’s actually pretty good. In fact, I think I’ll just watch that flick instead.
I for one quite like this trailer and would defend it in a fight.
Not that it needs defending of course because its so incredibly awesome.
Am I crazy or does it sound like the couple in the movie are singing the song that pops up as the trailer fades? I sincerely hope it’s them.
