You know what’s apparently big this week? Kangol hats! This morning when Vulture put up their hilarious casting of the miracle plane crash post, the most visible surviving passenger (Seriously, he was on EVERY CHANNEL last night. I bet he was on The Golf Channel), Jeff Kolodjay, was shown wearing his now-famous Kangol hat. And Kangol hats were the subject of Andy Samberg’s hilarious Billy Bob Thornton impression on SNL this past week! So it needs to be on the internet:

Yeah, the two are BARELY related, but that sketch was funny and I’ve been looking for an excuse to put it up. Thanks, The News. (“And thatssseeyt!”)

  1. To quote John Mulaney on Best Week Ever once: “Corey Haim isn’t in the remake (of Lost Boys) because he burned A LOT of bridges in Hollywood. But one bridge he did not burn is the bridge to the Kangol hat store. That bridge is still very much in operation.”

  2. I don’t know. I wasn’t “feelin’” that 3-names sketch, although I will give you that Samberg’s BBT was the high mark. “Hey, here’s a list of people with three names!” Not funny.

  3. no samuel l. jackson love? that dude IS kangol …

NY Mag has been over this. Kolodjay’s hat has is from Munsingwear, not Kangol.

  5. Forte’s Pantoliano impression is the most f***ed up, weird and hilarious thing about this skit. He’s growing on me.
