• The Wet Hot American Summer cast reunited for a stagereading of the movie at San Francisco’s Sketchfest and I’m not sure if any of us were there or not, but here are some pictures from it! Just in case you weren’t there!  Does it feel like you were there now? Put on the movie, maybe. -PopWatch
  • Jimmy Fallon is getting sued by some guy for hiring too many women. Weird how he chose suing as his #1 option when the real answer has been in front of him for weeks. -TMZ
  • Corban from Stereogum did an interview with John Mulaney for GQ and John Mulaney has some THINGS to say about Empire Records. And I have a response. THEY DID IT TO HELP THEIR FRIEND LUCAS! -GQ
  • Did you know that Melissa McCarthy and Jenny McCarthy are cousins? It’s true! Apparently! And they’re both famous! -ICYDK
  • Danielle Radcliff was cast as Allen Ginsberg in an indie movie called Kill Your Darlings. That’s nice, right? I don’t really have a major reason to bring that up here but isn’t that kind of good for him? -THR
  • Oh my goodness. Tim Gunn has some very sad things to say about his sex life and his last relationship. Tim Gunn! We love you! You don’t have to make it work if you don’t want to and you seem to be doing fine not making it work! Tim! -Celebuzz
  • Vanilla Ice did a bit for The Soup where he played his songs acoustically for hipsters and I don’t know if this is a thing you enjoy but in case it is here you go! -TheDailyWhat
  • Dlisted put together a list of OSCAR SNUBS, but one they forgot to include is BILL CUNNINGHAM NEW YORK! How was that not nominated for Best Documentary? WTF? Guys? I thought that was definitely going to be nominated! And I NEVER think wrong! -Dlisted

  1. It’s okay! He didn’t mean it! He’ll help you, we’ll all help!

  2. Those are some rad links but unfortunately you forgot to include the link about how the actor Jon Bernthal is leaving the Walking Dead to go star in that new TNT show LA Noir by the previous Walking Dead guy Frank Darabont. Rad link.

  3. Snubs are in!

  4. The Jim Mulaney interview is making me more upset than it should.

As a public librarian, I’m always being told “Hey, we’re out of money” and I always want to save my job!

And how could you not want to save Empire Records?!

  5. Oh good lord, an indie version of Ice Ice Baby? Remember when he did the metal cover of it in 1999? I do because we used to play it as a joke on my college radio show.

I sort of honestly think he only knows one song. I mean know this is a joke, but the metal cover wasn’t.

  6. I hope the Daniel Radcliffe “Kill Your Darlings” isn’t as godawful as this other movie called “Kill Your Darlings”: http://recapscallion.blogspot.com/2010/05/kill-your-darlings.html

  7. I want to give Tim Gunn from 29 years ago a big hug!

  8. I’m so sad I wasn’t at Wet Hot American Summer. That and ASSSSCAT sold out super fast :( I would have stalked Amy Poehler after either show and gotten real weird with it. Woulda been awesome.

  9. John Mulaney, you are hating on Empire Records for all the wrong reasons; you should hate it because it is full of terribly obnoxious and unfunny people.

  10. It’s been 22 years and Vanilla Ice is still milking that same song?

This is still the best clip out there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JippcFJsSFw

  11. I’ve been wondering whether I should watch Bill Cunningham New York immediately or in a little while. I think this decides it for immediately.

Also, more doc. snubs: The Interrupters, Cave of Forgotten Dreams

  12. I was at the Wet Hot American Summer show! It was INSANE. Most of the original cast members were also at the table read of the They Came Together screenplay reading the next morning (also by Wain/Showalter). Between those two and the ASSSSCAT shows, I kinda had my mind blown this weekend. Sketchfest foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

    • I went to both of those events too!!! I similarly felt giddy and crazy all weekend. I also got to meet Paul Rudd so I am just over the top happy this week. I haven’t stopped talking about it to everyone at work (I’m sure I’m annoying).

I also went to the amazing Rifftrax event on opening night. Did you see that? So goooooooooddddddddd.

      • YES!! Rifftrax is always amazing. I am also annoying everyone on Facebook with weekend-related ramblings ’cause it was just TOO GREAT to shut up about. I didn’t meet Paul Rudd (I’d die) but we were staying at the same hotel as him, Poehler, and most everyone from Wet Hot so we kept running into all of them in the lobby. And I went to an afterparty where I was able to ogle all the funny people I adore from a few feet away and say, “Hi, Andy!” to Andy Richter which was like the maximum amount of chat-time I could handle with a person I love so much.

Just saw more Wet Hot photos posted here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/24/wet-hot-american-summer-original-cast-performs-sf-sketchfest_n_1229360.html

        • That is so cool, re: running into everyone in your hotel! I had some run-ins too. I ran into Bill and Kevin from Rifftrax when I was walking home after the Wet Hot show and I couldn’t resist tapping Bill on the shoulder and gushing I LOVE YOU TWO!

Paul just came out and started shaking hands and taking pictures with people after the “They Came Together” table read. I was shaking like a leaf and my boyfriend grabbed my phone out of my hand and shoved me toward Paul and Paul posed us for a photo. He was sweet, said something adorable to my ramblings and I had to leave the scene because I was too giddy. I am glad Amy didn’t show up when I was there because I do not think I could have spoken to her. I am normally pretty cool about this stuff but she’s too lovely!

I saw David Wain on a street corner later but he had an assistant hurrying him somewhere else so I didn’t want to get in the way. I am very rarely shy but I adore all these comedians too much!
