At this point it is actually weird when people do the right thing. Must have found some leftover moral code at the bottom of mildewy box in the basement somewhere.

  1. It’s more likely she found it at the bottom of a bucket of chicken.

  2. Nah, Paula Deen just figured she was so great at this publicity thing, she could as well do it all by herself.

  3. For some reason, this seems like a Really Good idea to me.

  4. “If I was Paula Deen’s publicist, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood at those press conferences and then me saying, ‘OK, this is our brand’s new direction. Any questions?’” -Mark Wahlberg

  5. Paula Deen’s publicist quit? I can’t believe she’s not bitter.

  6. Way to bury the lede here, Gabe. The publicist left to be a spokesperson for a prescription drug against assholes.

  7. So actually the publicist quit because Deen stopped lying about being healthy and started telling people to eat right.

“A source said Assuncao ‘strongly disagreed with Deen’s dramatic turnabout, after years of promoting fatty foods, to announcing she has a deal with a diabetes drug company [Novo Nordisk] and will be promoting lighter food and ‘diabetes in a new light.’”

So the only moral code at play would be the Publicist’s Moral Code: Always be an evil asshole.
