Way to bury the lede here, Gabe. The publicist left to be a spokesperson for a prescription drug against assholes.
So actually the publicist quit because Deen stopped lying about being healthy and started telling people to eat right.
“A source said Assuncao ‘strongly disagreed with Deen’s dramatic turnabout, after years of promoting fatty foods, to announcing she has a deal with a diabetes drug company [Novo Nordisk] and will be promoting lighter food and ‘diabetes in a new light.’”
So the only moral code at play would be the Publicist’s Moral Code: Always be an evil asshole.
