An audience member/extra named Lawrence who attended/participated in a comedy show filmed last night for Judd Apatow’s Adam Sandler-starring comedian movie Funny People tried not to break the house rule (“please don’t go home and review the show on the internet like assholes,”) but couldn’t help sharing the following, which I’ve put into the form of blurbs:

“Honestly, everyone was effing hilarious.”

“it was clear that Aziz (Ansari) was the crowd favorite.”

“(Aziz Ansari) plays a comedian named Raaaaaaaandy who is kind of a rock star and is backed up by a dj named Ol’ Young’un.”

“I had to pee the entire time.”

He also mentions that Aziz Ansari has set up a MySpace page for his Funny People character, Raaaaaaaandy (8 a’s), though it hasn’t been updated since mid-December. Can’t wait!

    Spoiler(?):
I saw Aziz on his Glow in the Dark tour and he brought out the character of Randy. Randy is a terrible comedian who talks about nothing but sex (i.e. going down on girls in hot tubs). His catchphrase is “Raaaanndddyy!” It’s pretty funny, but I like the real Aziz better. I can’t wait, however, for the movie.

  2. Aziz is a complete d-bag. I hated his character on Scrubs, his character in Drive By (Flight of the Conchords) makes me hate that episode with a passion (even in spite of Albi and Mutha’uckas), and I know a guy who roomed with him in high school who said he was that guy who has a guitar that he always plays but only knew one song.

  3. roomed with him in high school? like a boarding school i guess? he may have changed a bit since then…i like aziz, i think he’s funny and in the few brief times i’ve met him/seen him live he seems like a decent dude. also ed was the best part of the first 2 episodes of scrubs.
