This morning I switched on (yes, “switched on.” I’m 80 and I like to “look at television” in the morning) The View just in time to hear the announcer-guy introduce today’s guest, Ann Coulter, with these exact words:

“Ann Coulter will tell you why she thinks single moms are raising strippers and rapists…and why the media wants to ‘have sex’ with Obama.”

So, I kind of had to tune in, and I wasn’t disappointed. The ladies of The View aren’t a smart bunch, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day. This clip is 8 minutes, but time flies when you’re watching Ann Coulter suffer.

I think “Trying not to go off”-Whoopi is my favorite Whoopi. (Video via Cajun Boy.)

Ann Coulter is literally my least favorite person alive. This video made me sad that she still exists, and happy she got the crap beaten out of her.

      What about Fred Phelps?

      • I grew up in Topeka, KS. Topeka is the headquarters of the Phelps clan. I can remember going on school field trips and seeing the people picketing with signs like “God Hates Fags” knowing school buses were going through. I also remember not really knowing what they were up to, or even caring. The only way to deal with trolling idiots like these is to simply look past them. If they get no reaction, they fail.

  2. I think Ann Coulter is actually a man. Hence, her inability to recognize that maybe some women want to have babies, but not shitty husbands. Also, her height.

  3. The problem with Ann Coulter is that she

    a) is a deranged attention whore
    b) gets attention by going on shows and having people take her down a peg thus ensuring that her books become best sellers.

Much like Spencer and Heidie, if we want her to go away we must stop paying attention to her. Also, really, when Sherri Sheppard makes more sense than you…you may just be an imbecile.

    • That is true, and normally I’m a big fan of that (like specifically with certain TV shows and TV networks that are owned by Viacom but are not Comedy Central), but in this case it was just too much fun to watch. Also, it’s a Safe Place – none of us are going to buy her book!

    • To stop Ann Coulter 1 2 3
Here’s a fresh new way that’s trouble free
      It’s got Paul Anka’s guarantee…
      (Guarantee void in Tennesee)

Just don’t look! Just don’t look!

  4. God people love getting trolled by this character

  5. I say we put our money together and hire the people who robbed soulja boy to rob her.

  6. I’m pretty sure a blind, deaf, and mute person could take Coulter down a peg. Her arguments are less than paper-thin, and she boxes herself in with every sentence because she has absolutely no idea what the fuck she is talking about ever.

The people who agree with her are the same people who think Palin is the second coming and a large reason why the Republican Party is so fragmented and screwed up right now.

    Keep it coming, Man Coulter!

Ann Coulter talks about Mein Kampf like some people talk about the Bible.

  8. it takes a real monster bitch to make elizabeth hasselbeck seem smart.
ann coulter is the literal manifestation of the term “media whore”. she let’s the media use and degrade her, while she makes money from it. fuck her hard, people. she likes it rough.

  9. The statistics must have interesting sociological explanations behind them – you have to admit that much – however, Coulter always turns any data she could find into an irrational political attack. How can anyone take her serious?

  10. “…And we’re happy to have her with us!”

I would have grit my teeth a little harder, Babs. Ann Coulter has to know her arguments have no foundation, she just says crazy shit to sell books (,right?), which would easily explain why she’ll never formally debate anyone that challenges her (i.e. Greg Palast, Sen. Al Franken). I have to say I hate Sean Hannity more, just because he isn’t immediately taken down a peg by anyone in the media that talks to him. And because he has two shows, one of which is about a fictional country called: “Sean Hannity’s America,” where it’s the 1950′s and there are no gay people.

Oh yeah, my mom makes single motherhood look sooo glamorous.
Time for me to be a stripper, hopefully I’ll get knocked up without a husband too!

What a hateful woman. All of the View ladies showed more class than her, especially Sherri Shepherd (who is really growing on me because of 30 rock now…)

  13. Faith  |   Posted on Jan 12th, 2009 +1

She just takes “evidence” and completely spins it into something else. She must have a lot of time on her hands in order to come up with this shit.

  14. hank  |   Posted on Jan 12th, 2009 +2

you know you’ve had a bad day when you get your ass handed to you by The View.

  15. Did Anne Coulter just say that she had recently read “Mein Kempf?”

that opening title is pretty sweet — ‘cunt-tell’?? do people call her that?? weird.

  17. Marissa  |   Posted on Jan 13th, 2009 +1

she’s a crazy but the most annoying thing about this was the the subject add and everyone talking over everyone else. like 8 minutes of talking and managing to say absolutely nothing.

  18. Meredith  |   Posted on Jan 13th, 2009 +2

She reminds me of every stubbornly unreasonable teacher I’ve ever hated. It makes me very happy to see them all vicariously beat down.

While her statistics may be correct, she uses her facts as an unfounded attack against the more liberal people. I won’t argue with the fact that a high percentage of criminals come from single-parent homes, if what she said was true. However, she builds up a completely false argument against people whom she considers Liberal. She acts as if anyone with a “conservative” label is Jesus and anyone with a “liberal” label is trying to destroy the country. She is not classy. She says outrageously offensive things like calling John Edwards a fag and was unbelievably insensitive and downright nasty to the widows of 9/11 victims. People would debate her on the issues if only she WANTED to debate them on the issues. It takes two reasonable, intelligent, and respectful people to debate. She is none of these things. She only wants attention, and unfortunately, whenever she writes a “new” book full of anti-Liberal hate-mongering bs, she gets it.
If you honestly can’t see what a truly horrible human being she is, then I’m glad that I don’t know you and will hopefully never meet you.

    • “Women need to start making better choices in the men they pick to have sex with, and preferably wait for the stability of marriage before bringing a new life into this world.”

LOL what? Yes, let us pin this all on the women because that is how sex and relationships work. They pick Ds out of a line-up to F and then are all WHOOPS my bad, let me just have this kid right quick and then watch it go to jail in 20 years. Totally.

Also, my mother DID wait to marry before having me and still ended up a single mother so nice fuckin’ advice there, Olivia Diaz (definitely not your real name. Nice try, Ann). Maybe instead our government should hold the absent fathers accountable for their irresponsibility instead of blaming mothers for something they didn’t choose. Because contrary to what Ann Coulter thinks, most single mothers aren’t filthy rich celebrities who decide to pop out a few babies to preoccupy their downtime while on set.

      Also, fuck you.

I did not attack you personally. If you choose to ignore everything else I said, where I tried to be very reasonable despite the fact that I’m pissed off, whatever. You don’t have to agree with me, but I’m right. You can sit up on your high horse and act like any one who ever makes a mistake needs to be criticized, because I’m sure that you and Ann Coulter are perfect God-fearing conservatives and have never made a mistake. You guys are truly “courageous.” Because that’s what courage is, right? Why go after the people who are higher up than us, the people who basically control our country, like big oil execs and the government and fundamental Christians? No, courage is about going after the little guy. Single mothers. Perfect. What, were parents of autistic children going too far? Because I’m sick of those guys ruining our country. No more free rides, autistic kids!

The problem is not neccessarily the decline of the traditional family, but the unfairness when it comes to wages, opportunities, etc. If women would earn as much as men, wouldn’t be discriminated against because they could one day have to stay home with a sick child, or had better daycare, heck, maybe even at-work-daycare (what a noble idea that is!) many of the problems that Ann laments could become obsolete. There is always much more behind a statistic than initially obvious. One always needs to differentiate between correlation and causation.

  22. Oh yeah, single motherhood is an awful influence on the future of children, that’s why Barack Obama became PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED FLIPPIN’ STATES! Talk about failing upwards.

    • I’m quite certain in Coulter’s mind the fact that Obama was raised by a single mother only makes her point stronger that it creates liberal God-hating criminal terrorist pinko commie scum.

  23. The feeling I’m having about the women of The View right now is akin to seeing your mortal enemy come to your aid to battle a scourge that threatens all humanity. Tentative stare off. Offering of the hand. UNITY!

  25. fonz  |   Posted on Jan 15th, 2009 0

Not really a big Coulter fan myself, but I don’t see how she got her ass kicked there. I think she held her own pretty well in that five against one gang up. That’s not much of a compliment, though, considering the gang of idiots we’re talking about.

  26. This is a black and white issue: you either have serious disdain for Ann Coulter because of her boundless, insensitive, unfounded, moronic vitriol, or you’re as much of a drain on this country as she is.

  27. Liam  |   Posted on Jan 15th, 2009 +4

excusing the horrible things Ann Coulter says and does by saying she is a “satirist” is like excusing the Holocaust by calling Hitler a “politician”. also i had no idea that in order to be a satirist you had to have no sense of humor whatsoever about anything ever. maybe people would argue about her so-called “points” instead of her personality if she didn’t come across as an utterly contemptuous, willfully ignorant rage-fueled ice queen from planet worst?

It’s hard to watch. To make that bitch go away you can’t lose your temper like that. She feels exonerated when the whole group attacks her. Whoopi is the only lady capable of saying something substantive – but alas the “left” failed again. A bi-polar world is totally lame.

Yes, Ann Coulter is exactly the same as Al Franken – except for the part where he was just elected to the US Senate, and she’s an hateful, ignorant has-been with nothing better to do than get shredded on The View. Enough said.

    • (talking about the airlines’ mistreatment of an Arab-American Secret Service agent) “This man should not be allowed near the president with a loaded gun. At the least, he’s an immature nut. At worst, he’s a ticking time bomb, in a simmering rage at America’s supposed mistreatment of Muslims.

These alleged civil liberties concerns have only one purpose: to give Muslims a cushion for another attack on America. There is no principled basis for opposition to using Arab appearance as a factor in airport screening procedures.”

I think it’s pretty hard to find a quote from Al Franken or Moore that can even come close to this racist, jingoistic bullshit. Your comment is uninformed and quite frankly, embarrassing. Moore may resort to hackery, but Franken is and has been a legitimate satirist and political commentator for years (and is now going to be a U.S. Senator). Unlike Coulter, Franken fact checks METICULOUSLY and clearly cites all of his sources. Coulter misuses quotes, overloads Lexus Nexus searches, and blatantly plugs in quotes from THE WRONG SOURCES to manipulate her readers into her retarded game. If we were talking about George Will or William F. Buckley Jr., I’d be a bit more leniant, but this is ANN FUCKING COULTER.

though I too loath Ann for the most part, she is quite brave to face a group who has no interest in debating her views, but merely competes to see who most subversively denounce them.

Come to think of it, most of this blogging and commenting on issues back and forth is a waste of time. What we think and believe about each other will matter not when we die and each of us stands before our Creator to give an account of our life. To sum up the reason for our very existence: “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” Ecclesiates 12:14. And for those who do not believe in God, the Bible has something to say to you: “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” Psalm 53:1. Pick up a Bible and read it; seek God while you can, because life is very fragile and we are not guaranteed tomorrow, and not even today.

    • Wow. Just when you had the chance to let this shit die and walk away with a shred of self respect and decency, you bring out some scripture. EPIC FAIL!

“Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” Leviticus 19:18 “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” Matthew 7:1

Funny how those are always lost on conservative Christians. Olivia you are judging single mothers, by very definition. Justify it to yourself all you want (That’s what conservative Christians do, they judge everyone else for anything they find fault in, while quickly dismissing any BLATANT DISREGARD FOR THE BIBLE they do themselves), but it’s what you’re doing.

This is why Pat Robertson can make deals with LIberian dictators while they slaughter their own people, fill rescue aid planes with mining equipment to feed his greed, and then say that 9/11 happened because God was mad at GAYS (Trust me, if anyone’s going to Hell, Pat Robertson is going to be way ahead of any gay person). This is why Anne Coulter can spit in the face of widows of 9/11, openly say women shouldn’t be able to vote, advocate killing others, and then say others are acting irresponsibly.

I grew up in the church (Church of Christ, if you must know), still go from time to time. While I don’t agree with some of the stuff they do, all Christians aren’t like that. Anne Coulter, Pat Robertson, and their supporters, they aren’t true Christians and they don’t follow God. They are hatemongers. All they did was find an outlet where they could justify their hate.

It’s sad that people like Anne Coulter taint the very idea of God by claiming to support him. As the great Kurt Vonnegut said, “Where’s evil? It’s that large part of every man who wants to hate without limit, who wants to hate with God on its side.”

  40. Well, I think you know already that I wholeheartedly disagree with that statement, Ann.
