Earlier this week, we tried out a new feature that was intended to introduce new commenters to the community called New Commenters’ New Corner, which was admittedly a bit on the nose, but the point is that while I’m not entirely sure that it actually worked, since the thread seems to be primarily filled with comments from regular commenters, it still seems like it was pretty fun. Some of the comments even made it into this week’s Monsters’ Ball, which is as much as you can really ask of a comment. And if you ARE a new commenter, regardless of whether or not you participated in that particular thread, and regardless of whether or not you will EVER make it into the ball (Doubt it. Just kidding! I’m trying to motivate you to COMMENT HARDER) I would still like to reiterate the message: Welcome. And now that you’re here, go away. For the weekend. See you Monday!

I am somehow MORE intimidated and nervous in this new environment. I was just going to say the same thing. I would have lost my mind this week had it not been for all of you.
Also, I blame a certain presidential candidate that I have now become obsessed with as I am 100 percent convinced he is a post-modern post-feminist performance artist. I won’t say his name because then he’ll appear. But I guess bemusement beats blinding rage? Sorry if I went a little overboard.

Also, I got Jeff Mangum tickets today, so this is a pretty big day for me. Bigger than the day I got married, and the day my child was born possibly if I were married and/or had a child, which I don’t.
