One of the video memes that went around this year was the “old video from the ’80s that was supposed to be anti-sexual abuse but went way too far and is just incredibly creepy now.” Well, somebody page Virginia Heffernan, who covers internet trends for the New York Times, ’cause we got a big one. There comes a time in every Grandpa-Granddaughter relationship when they need to sit outside and have a chat about “us.” Where is this relationship headed? And what is the granddaughter willing to put on the table in order to go fishing? Warning: this is SO inappropriate for 2008 audiences.

AHHHHHHHHHHH, right? It’s easy to realize that this scene was supposed to be an alarming incident that caused Grandpa to call the police in a TV show or movie, but where is that actress and how messed up in the head must she be now? (Via Fey Friends.)

  5. UGH! What tiny children come on to their grandpas? Does it really merit a PSA type video?

    • Exactly. This PSA is the first I’ve ever heard of that problem, though now if I become a grandpa I’ll know that if my granddaughter does that it would definitely be innapropriate and I should stop it immediately. Thanks Ad Council!

    • This isn’t a PSA. It’s a movie from 1992 called Child of rage and is based on a true story.
The little starring actress is ashley peldon, btw, check out courtney peldon, these girls grew up ‘right’!!!
      Now you know dat

  11. it’s not a psa, it’s from “Child of Rage,” an awful lifetime type movie

  12. adorable innocent elderly people everywhere: beware of oversexed children, especially in the toddler through ten year old age group.

also, “you can be my sweet daddy bear” is my new pickup line.

  13. actually, it’s a deleted scene from happiness.

It’s apparently from a film called “Child of Rage,” a TV movie made in 1992. The actress is named Ashley Peldon. From wikipedia:

“In January 2007, Peldon graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology and Film from Skidmore College in New York. Her interest in child psychology originated from her dramatic role as the sexually abused youngster in CBS TV’s Child of Rage when she was 7 years old.”

  15. 4chan got nothin on this.

I caught ONLY the above clip when this was actually on tv in the 90s…another thing I assumed I imagined. If anyone can find this shit, it’s you, Videogum. You’re finding so many monkeys in basketballs lately, it blows my mind.

  17. *ahem*

  18. I thought it was from Bad Seed (the 80s version).

I watched this in health class once. Why the teacher felt child of rage was the one i will never know. I’m in like 10th grade. and this scene made us all just say “peace i’m out” I couldn’t move pass that without laughing in convulsions and feeling nasty.

and that was after she was beating the crap out of her brother.

    wild move

  24. The movie is called “Child of Rage”, it’s the only movie to date that makes me curl up in the fetal position fearing for someone like that coming from my uterus.

  25. Who the fuck thought this was a good idea for a movie?

  27. What the hell? Who wrote this script? I bet that child actress was scarred for life!

  28. Maclovia  |   Posted on Dec 19th, 2008 0

Hahaha Child of Rage is such an insane movie. I was forced to watch it in high school…it’s a TRUE story about some psychopath little girl.

I am sure they were careful in how they filmed this scene. By the way the actress actually graduated with a degree in child psychology.
The child this movie was based on (Beth Thomas) is now a nurse. This movie is called “Child Of Rage.”
The girl was adopted, but suffered horrible abuse from her biological father prior to being adopted, and she had to go through many years of therapy, and she is doing well now.
