• Here is a collection of photos of people hanging out with Chevy Chase. Not included: The time when I sat directly behind Chevy Chase while seeing the musical Wicked and touched his jacket. Do some research next time. -Uproxx
  • I don’t really understand this cocktail typewriter. So you have to program it and set certain letters to different alcohol commands? And then you have to type the letters? That sounds like a lot of work. Can’t they just invent a cocktail robot that comes preprogrammed and you just ask it to make you a cocktail? Isn’t it 2011? -TheDailyWhat

  1. Chevy: “Oh, you know, I’m just a regular guy. A guy’s guy. I like to think I’m down-to-earth, despite my succe– WHOSE GODDAMN PEASANT FINGERS JUST TOUCHED THIS FORTY-THOUSAND-DOLLAR JACKET”

  2. selfless vagina is my favorite new phrase! thanks Maggie!

  3. Um, Kelly? I have been lobbying since the Hoover Administration to get Cool World in the Hunt. It might be a real WMOAT contender. It is one of the only times I wanted to walk out on a movie. I saw it with my sister (she was very into these young unknowns Brad Pitt and G-Byrne, and I was determined to get in on the ground level of our generation’s Roger Rabbit). About 20 minutes in we knew we had made a huge mistake. By the end of the movie we couldn’t speak or even meet each others’ eyes anymore, in shame and sorrow. The effect lingered for weeks as I recall.

  4. Yeah, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is actually really annoying? And no one but my friend Tina and me can see it! I think it’s his voice and his dumb face and his demeanor and the things he does. I’m still gonna watch Brick, though, but because I love Rian Johnson and saw him IRL at a Q&A for a Mountain Goats film he did (did not touch his jacket).

  5. So New Girl is not very funny. But it does look nice.

This isn’t an entirely compelling or worthwhile comment, but I’d like to leave it here. Thanks for understanding.

  6. Not to get too technical and business of TV nerdy, but I’m curious about the statistics on New Girl. It’s been available for free for like 3 weeks or so? I wonder how many people are counted in the iTunes and Hulu watching numbers v. those on Fox last night v. projected total v. actual ratings that won’t be released for a little while longer. And I’m *very* interested in seeing how the numbers drop after the second and third eps. If it manages to live past a 13 episode initial run and even into a full season or maybe even two… I cannot wait to see how NBC, CBS and ABC rip off the Manic Pixie Dream Girl concept and who will be cast as a bargain-basement Zooey Deschanel.

Because Mad Men : Playboy Club as Zooey Deschanel Show : FUCKING AMAZING

  7. I don’t know about that “New Girl” show. I think I’ll give it one more chance. It’s somethin’ to watch.

  8. That Conan story was so good! Holy Christ! I have been spending the last few years in workshops and reading through slush piles at internships and copyediting humor pieces and I am not sure I have seen anything as good as that, at all.
