Ugh, I hate reading. Someone tell me when they film a version of this and I’ll check it out.
“Elementary, my dear Bunk.”
Constable it is no crime
This is really great. Like, really really great. That is all.
I had the opposite reaction. I was all “Ugh, so much reading, where are the pictures?” But, like, honestly I was.
“Now, Mr. Bruce my good man, I daresay I have figured out what is vexing our Mother nation at this point in time. We used to craft good and services domestically. Build homegrown industry. The problem as it stands currently is we outsource our trade to the dark continent and wait for the revenue of our foreign grown goods to fill our coffers.” — Lord Francis Sobotka-Smythe
I just finished watching Season One, and therefore cannot continue reading these comments (no spoil-o), BUT know that I will miss this WHOLE POST very much.

“It is a fair, even-handed, noble adjustment of things, that while there is infection in disease and sorrow, there is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as heroin.”
“Squire Bell, might I inquire as to the whereabouts of Young Master Wallace?” — Mr. D Barksdale

Someday, when I’m feeling brave, I’ll expand on this opinion: while very good, The Wire is not great. It is
…in the top 10 percent of TV shows, IMO, but not in the top 5 percent.
(written from my stupid iPhone which entered in my comment too quickly)
Winwood? Is that you? Have you taken over Werttrew’s account? We miss you, buddy, but this is taking it a bit far.
Rather than debate the merits of The Wire, I would like to flip this around and ask which shows you would put ahead of The Wire?
Boooo! #1 show of all time!!
(I LOVE IT).
I am SO not interested. I tried to read that series of children’s books that they made based on Oz. Just. Plain. Nonsense. They replaced all the main characters with monkey birds and stuff. It was like some kind of song by the band KoRn.
If challenging the King, it is ESSENTIAL that one’s aim be true.
“Tis a far far better game I played than I have ever played before.” – Stratford-Upon-Avon Barksdale
I wish this post was tagged “the Dickensian aspect”…
