I’ve mentoined it before, but Pi Day < Pi Approximation Day. It's on 22/7, and instead of eating pie, you just sort of smear it around your mouth.

My friends and I had a party yesterday (I made lemon curd pie). We’re extemely uncool.
I made apple pie over the weekend, and my adorable nerd parents both wished me a Happy Pi Day this morning. Nerd families! Woo!
I read on Wikipedia* that the ancient Pi day tradition is to drill a hole in a cherry pie with an electric drill and see who find the pi symbol make of twisted cherry stems to end our obsession with rabbinical mysteriousness. But I forget, do you have to let the ants-on-a-log heat up for the full hour and a half on the exposed hot water pipe before you eat them?
*no i didn’t but Wikipedia is a consistent fall-guy if you need to say you read something weird somewhere, just to introduce and overwrought movie-reference-holiday joke…
I used to celebrate Pi Day with friends when I lived in Brooklyn (this was before we were aware of the National Phenomenon – we were just trying to find something to bridge the gap between the high holy days of Fall/December (Halloween/Thanksgiving/Voodoo Solstice Day) and Summer); my friends and I would go to someone’s house put on pajamas and eat pie all day while playing board games and watching movies from the 80s.
We had a theme song!

For π day, I will eat 3.14 of them, and then calculate my new circumference.
I brought my student workers pie for Pi Day. Found out one of them has pi memorized to the 131st numeral. That student got a bigger piece.
If you are looking for a super easy pie recipe that will impress your friends, here it is: 2 cups (by cups I mean the thing that the yogurt comes in, not like an actual measuring cup) of raspberry yogurt, 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 package of vanilla pudding mix, 1 cup of crushed raspberries, mix it all together and put it in an oreo crust, freeze for two hours. SO GOOD.
In my religion, we celebrate Pi Day as Beware-the-Ides-of-March Eve.
