“You like me, you double-complete like me” – Paul Vasquez
“You like me all the way across the sky.”
You know what’s cooler than double? Triple.
I guess now we know: it means you’ll be named person of the year on a pop culture blog with a readership of nerds.
The tear is clutch.
Gabe must’ve found his sex advice really useful.
Ahem, I think you’re forgetting somebody?
Wow. I forgot that was this year. WHAT A RIDE!
Why do we love failure so much?
Because while there is usually only one way to win, there are as many different ways to fail as there are people.
When we sing on pitch, we all sing the same pitch; but when we caterwaul, we all sing our own note and that cacophony is much more interesting to listen to.
Our failures, spectacular and unique, are what make us human.
I don’t know what it means. But I like it.
And yet, you never fail, Mans. What does it mean???
Also, did you know that “cacophony” comes from the same Greek root as our nursery word “caca” meaning ” to defecate”?
Mans I think you should be awarded Videogum Monster of the year…. seriously. You nearly saved Nakedpainter’s life; You joined Twitter and killed it; and your comments are consistently the best. Comments like “Our failures, spectacular and unique, are what make us human,” makes living life a little easier.
This guy is also not pleased you forgot about him:
They forgettin’ everybody out here!
Ugh. I remember that guy. Go to bed, that guy.
Gabe tried to give Jennifer Petkov the PERSONAL SATISFACTION of being person of the year, but bitch ran him down with her car before he could.
All the monsters are my persons of the year. Y’all are the best!
I always forget that I’ve won the Person of the Year award. I probably should have put that on my journalism school application.
ANOTHER JOURNALIST. thats at least four now.
Videogum is nothing but journalists, teachers and lawyers!
And ex-journalists who couldn’t pay the rent so they sold out and got a corporate job that is sucking the life out of them who now visit pop culture blogs to view memes of adorable kitties hugging teddy bears in an attempt to battle surfacing depression!
… only me?
I will be you in a few years.
don’t forget the college students studying to become journalists, teachers and lawyers
Would it be creepy or awesome to know what all of us monsters do for a living?
Me, too! Me, too! Well, my degree is in print journalism anyway. (I’ll insert my own “Ha Ha, Your medium is dying joke” here)
I was fully expecting this to just be paperstreetsoap’s picture of all of us. I mean I guess I wasn’t expecting it because I didn’t know this was going to be a feature, but as soon as I saw the headline that’s what I thought it was going to be! Is it right that I feel so cheated? Probably not, right?
That’s Gabe for you. He likes to keep it fresh, keep you guessing.
Well I’ve finally found an outfit for Gabe to go with that thong I got him for Christmas.
and of course
STEFON WAS ROBBED!
Okay, fair enough, Double Rainbow Guy, but you all know who’s Videogum Dog of the Year??

We’ll get ‘em next year, Steve.
I am assuming this came down to a tie between Gwyneth Paltrow, Mel Gibson, and Double Rainbow guy and you just closed your eyes and pointed at one… that is probably EXACTLY what happened.
-Me, 2006 Time Person of the Year Winner and 2010 Hopeful.
Accidental plagaismgum! Sorry quicker-than-I-jokemakers!
I shouldn’t be bitter. The truth is that I love Paul Vasquez. I have elaborate fantasies about hanging out in a yurt with him, smoking weed and just talkin’ about stuff. I bet he has really great insights on modern consumer culture.
Well, at least it wasn’t Obama, like it was the last 5 years.
“I’ll show you, Time Magazine! I’ll show you in exactly two years!”
-Mayan Long-Count Calendar
The double rainbow guy arguably had a bigger impact on 2010 than Mark Zuckerberg:
Huh. “High Times” chose the same person.
I hope this means that Gabe will like the solar powered double rainbow maker I got him for Christmas!
You know how the Blair Witch Project movie poster used to scare you as a young teen? Thanks for reminding me why it still scares me.
You don’t see 2 rainbows without making a few enemies.
Tons of Fucking Sequins guy was robbed!
These year end retrospective pieces are reminding me that the date will soon be 1/1/11. What does it mean?
