Personally, I preferred the pre-celebrity Timmy, who knew that it wasn’t about wearing pants, it was about THE MUSIC. I remember when all he needed was a half-rotten banana to bring TEARS to GROWN MEN’S EYES. Now he’s got a real microphone and had his kitchen redone woohoo teehee, and everything. He’s not even wearing Mickey Mouse pajamas for Christ’s sake! But it was bound to happen, and you can’t fault him for enjoying his success. Isn’t that what we wanted for him in the first place? I just hope never forgets where he came from. (Via TheDailyWhat.)

  1. I hate to admit this, but he is better at singing Lady Gaga songs than I am.

  2. He got his kitchen re-did? Damn, he musta banked some serious dough from his last releases.

  3. HarperCollins just bought Timmy’s illustrated memoirs. Possible titles: “The Kid Stays in the Kitchen,” “Of Countertops and Poker Faces.”

  4. If Beyonce’s dad was his dad, that kid would be singing in high heels whether he liked it or not.

  5. One thing that is clear from this performance is that Timmy is going to grow up to be a big ole NBA basketball star

  6. Made it to 0:47. Monster best?

  7. Prince gif loved it!

  8. real….but still gay?

  9. I had the pleasure of going to an actual concert last night by the real Lady Gaga (in an arena that also hosts basketball — coincidence?). Timmy’s video really took me back.

One thing I did notice: a huge swath of fans under age 10. It was cool how diverse her fan base is in every respect, but I’m not sure that 8-year-olds should be at this thing, given the profanity and stuff (I’m not a parent; who knows what I’d actually allow? Probably everything). Eh.

My first stadium rock concert wasn’t till I was 14, and that took a lot of convincing, because my parents were certain that rock concerts were so dangerous I’d be shivved and thrown on a bonfire on the GA floor. So I had to pick my first stadium show very conservatively, with an eye toward breaking them in…

Consequently, my first rock concert was… wait for it… Steve Winwood.

  10. This is a disastuh

  11. It think someone is preparing for the U.S. Army…..no really, I think he is.

  12. The bloopers link that shows up at the fifteen second mark reveals two interesting things:

    1.) He’s a bit of a diva (duh).
2.) He has a really cool, supportive mom or aunt filming his sassy antics.

  13. Meh. Needs more drums.

  14. His dancing skills may not be quite as honed as Gaga’s, but Timmy’s video is certainly a more accurate portrayal of the song than her version.

  15. Welcome to the team, little one. You’ll be receiving your Hilary Clinton bumper sticker and map of Provincetown in 3-4 business days.

  16. Man, can that kid snap.
