People magazine reports that Lauren Conrad has signed a three-book deal with HarperCollins. Whoops, HarperCollins, that’s your author.

The books – the first of which is scheduled to hit shelves in the summer of 2009 – will be loosely inspired by Conrad’s own experience going from an ordinary teen to a reality TV star.

“It’s definitely influenced by my own life,” Conrad tells PEOPLE. “The books are about a girl who moves to L.A. and stars in a reality show, so obviously there are some similarities.”

Oh perfect. I’ve always wondered what The Hills would be like if it was written by an emotionally vacuous selfishness factory with a fourth grader’s intellect and black hole strength narcissism rather than just starring one. Zing! I’d like a Venti zingaccino with an extra shot of zing and a poppyzing bagel.

Thanks for the tip, Anna.

My jaw almost dropped when I saw this article… Hasn’t her 15 minutes run out yet?! This ought to be an epic fail…the real question is…does she make it to 3 books at all…
Also – is this going to be on the Hills – I can see it now… “Guys…like, writing is hard…let’s go to Les Deux instead”

  2. Looking forward to a Compare and Contrast:
