The above video stars Laura Bell Bundy, who just recently released her first country single, “Giddy On Up,” after a successful run as Belle Woods in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde. (Read: the whitest.) This guy knows what she is talking about.

  1. Let the debate begin:

  2. Roger Sterling is so hard right now.

  3. Just in case you weren’t sure if country music was full of retards. This gets made.

  4. Hold on, everyone. I want to hear what Mel Gibson has to say about this.

  5. Still missing something…maybe a dance number?

  6. “I will come down to your hair salon and get special coloring and protein fusion… but you will blow me first.”

  7. That was supposed to be a reply to Guided by Vodka. I really hope that was obvious.

  8. all of the light skinned blacks at work found this funny, the darker ones, not so funny

  9. It is good to see that C.C. DeVille is getting some work these days.

  10. I don’t think it counts as black face if you don’t wear black face.

  11. This video makes Song of the South look like a Paul Robeson retrospective at the DuSable, okay?

  12. “Racism is EVIL!” – the Videogum political correct champion hive mind group think collective

  13. it took me a long, long time to figure out this was a spoof-y comedy thing. i think that means that:
    a. this isn’t funny
    b. i’ve seen too many real life commercials starring black and white folk that talk like that
    c. ugh.

  14. This was funny. That girl was TBSvf, and did a fine impression of Maya Rudolph doing an impression of a hairdresser.

Also, when I was in high school a friend and I got high and went to see Scary Movie 2, and he wasn’t 17 so we bought tickets to see Legally Blonde and then were gonna sneak in, but we accidentally watched all of Legally Blonde. Just so you guys know where I’m at credibility-wise.

  15. it’s pretty clear the only thing this woman knows about black people, she learned from In Living Color.

    and what do they think?

  16. I kept waiting for Green Man to come and hit her in the face with a volleyball, but he never did. But he NEVER did.

    :(

    • Sorry if I stepped on your joke with the pic I posted below. You are funnier than me and I neglected to read all the comments before posting. Green Man should hit ME in the face.

  17. This video is just Okrrrr.

  18. You’d think, at this point in our world’s history, people would immediately reject any idea that involves blackface.

  19. Don’t theater people get a free pass on using grotesque stereotypes for comedy purposes? I’ve spent time with theater people for much of my life, and they all seem to think gay face or black face or asian face or whatever is solid comedy gold… I don’t think anybody would be wounded by this particular video, so I say YES, this is funny.

    • Can we talk about theater people for a moment also? Not to get all rantgum, but have you ever met such a group of obnoxiously narcissistic and/or delusional people? My ex was a musical theater girl and besides having severe borderline personality disorder (yay late night suicidal phone calls!), she also believed that facebook was her fanclub and that she was already famous. She sang showtunes at local theater and always had some sort of nebulous “broadway audition” that never materialized. Meanwhile she couldn’t – none of them can – hold down even the most menial of jobs because it cuts into their dreamy fantasy unicorn time. The end.

      • And one of them is always getting drunk and taking their clothes off. It’s terrible.

      • Grr.

While your ex does sound annoying, perhaps she was just an annoying person in general, and would’ve been obnoxious even if she held down a “real” job.

I feel I must stick up for theater people, being one. Just as we have learned that it is wrong to generalize black people (as demonstrated in the video above), it is wrong to generalize theater people. Just cuz there isn’t a “theaterface” doesn’t mean it’s OK to mock us. We have feelings too. A lot of them. That we express through the majesty of song.

        Anyway, I laughed. :)

        • I’m sure you are quite a lovely person, adgied. I’m definitely filtering this generalization through the PTSD I had with this girl and her obnoxious clique. My mom was a musical theater person and she’s the bestest.

  20. My reaction whenever I am forced to think about Laura Bell Bundy. I have hated her irrationally for years now (pretty much since she was cast in LB), and I am so glad now to have a legitimate reason for disliking her!

    • oh, god, i can’t stop watching this.

first because it’s funny and she’s funny, but also b/c i haven’t seen this since i was obsessed with this movie as a child, and DANG she is ridiculously attractive. goodness gracious.

      • i’m sure this goes without saying, since it was a direct reply to sophi’s comment, but i was talking about madeline kahn. just wanted to make that VERY CLEAR. clue-era madeline kahn, my new girlfriend.

  21. As an Official Professional Expert Black Person (23 years field experience, tenured, with honors), I was prepared to hate this and go all Seriousgum and be capital O – Offended, but that was pretty hilarious. Laura Bell Bundy is now on my radar.

  22. This girl feels plagiarized.

  23. “omglolz” as the kids these days say…i think must have seen this video when he made his claims that the internet is over…cause i don’t see how the internet can top this one, lets pack it up “doods”

also, i seriously enjoyed this the 3 times i’ve watched it
