When the Videogum Summer Jams Mixtape 2010 is finished and you play it on your shoulder boombox, people are going to be stopping you on the street and saying, “That mixtape is very timely and relevant.” (Via BuzzFeed.)

I love MC Chris. He used to come to karaoke at the Star Bar and freestyle to backing tracks from 80′s songs.
He’s also MC Pee Pants, so that’s certainly worth something.
Actually, some of the MC Pee Pants stuff was threaded through the karaoke freestyles. I got to hear the “Hume Cronyn, Jessica Tandy” line to the tune of “Come On Eileen”!
I want pitch gum! Any kind will do.
I don’t care if it’s nutritious or FDA approved.
It’s gonna make me spaz like bobcats on booze
A hyperactive juice that only I can produce
And fuel a giant drill, bore straight into Hell
Releasing ancient demons from their sleep forever spell
So they can walk upon the earth, and get resituated
And Hock the diet pills that MC Pee Pants has created
Nerdcore + Twin Peaks = OH MY GOD YES.
Twin Peaks is gangsta. This guy knows what I’m talkin’ about:

That was pretty damn awesome.
I realize now that this was a blown opportunity to say that this was, “a DAMN fine cup of summer jam.” Oh well, there’s always the next Twin Peaks related post.
You should hear Mc Lars’ tribute to Northern Exposure
What, no remix of the Man From Another Place singing this backwards in the Red Room? Come on, Internet, you need to get on this!
“you’re one year older
one year wiser
rocknroll star, king, czar, and a kaiser
a room full of friends, a mouth full of cake
every present is for you and it feels pretty great
you’re the man of the hour, the v.i.p.
you get the first slice of the p.i.e.
so blow out the candles
and make a wish
put a smile on
cuz it’s your birthday, bitch!”
one of 3 mc chris raps i have memorized.
You should check out my man Beefy http://www.beefyness.com/
I expect an east coast/west coast nerd battle coming up soon.
Also my favorite MC Chris is the collabo he did with Idle Warship.

what is all of this nerd-rap? as neither a west coast or east coast monster (gulf coast represent! or represent until the oil spill kills all the wetlands and we slide into the sea!) i do not know anything about this. info, plz.

Whaaaaat hhhhhhaaaaaaaappened to Josieeeeeeeeee!!!!???
Josie is a doorknob.
If you downvote that comment, then shame on you. Josie IS a fucking doorknob!
Josie turning in to a doorknob was – for me – the Fonzie jumping over the shark moment of Twin Peaks, although there were a lot of moments like that in season two. Loved the finale though. You’re welcome, brohams and bro-hettes.
Josie (one ‘e’) is standing behind Pete when he’s serving Special Agent Dale Cooper and Sheriff Truman the fish coffee. You know: “A fiiiish found its way into my PERColator” ~Pete (Did you know Pete was Henry in Eraserhead?)
I liked how MC Chris mixed in a Kiefer shout-out from Fire Walk With Me.
I haven’t been this overwhelmed with Twin Peaks joy since I heard DJ Shadow sample The Giant at the end of Endtroducing…
“It is happening, again… It is happening, again…”
Leave it to MC Chris to have the best song on the Summer Mixtape series thus far!!
The Twin Peaks program definitely had its moments. I own the gold box set, yo.
that pie is so good!
I set you up and you failed wwwest

and now I’m eating the humble pie.
Ha!
Looks like I need to bookmark another ‘so good’ gif… it’s a sad day
mc has always been very nice and approachable at his shows too! It’s great to meet down to earth people that rap about 80s children’s references, comic books, and star wars bounty hunters.
Someone remind me in Oct. that I’m supposed to be the log lady for Halloween. I always forget.
Also, this video needs more Bob.
To this day Killer Bob still scares the crap out of me.
GONNA SNATCH YOU UP
IN MY
MURDER BAG
i was the log lady last halloween!!!! a grand total of four people recognized me. but my costume was pretty impeccable, so the people who got it were super excited.
Fantastic. You described the ideal Halloween scenario. It’s fun being obscure and finding the people that get it. Have you seen all the log lady intros?
yes! i memorized a bunch of her sayings from the series and the intros, which i repeated to people who talked to me, but my ability to do that took a nosedive after a few hours of drinking. also carrying around an actual log for several hours can be a total pain. but the costume was really smart, because i got a big bulky sweater and wore it over a down vest, where i secured my phone and wallet. so i was warm (which is important for all the outdoors drinking that occurs in new orleans, esp during big holidays) and didn’t have to worry about losing anything important.
I was fourteen when Season One aired and I thought it would be a great (hilarious?) idea to dress up as The Log Lady. Everyone who answered the door thought I was a lumberjack because why else would I be carrying a log? P.S. I WAS A FAT KID.
This is the ONLY track on my mixtape.
Who is this even for? (This is for me. Apparently, that gum I like is back in style.)
This, friends, is great.
The summer jams are not what they seem.
Please help. The chorus. “This pie’s so good it…. what?” I’m not gonna type what it sounds like to me.
“it is a crime”, I think.
Lil Wayne has officially been dethroned as the “is he all there?” king of hip-hop. Yee.
Actually, I think MF DOOM has held that title since ODB’s death.
And DOOM will continue to hold that title forever and ever amen.
…It is a crime. Got it. Jesus, that was close.
I’m beginning to realize that Twin Peaks was my Lost.
Also, this is much better than Moby’s Go

I didn’t watch this because I’m currently a few episodes into the second season of Twin Peaks and I don’t want any spoilers. True story.
I want to watch this too but am in the same boat. I am half way done with season 2. Twin Peaks/MC Chris fans, is this safe to watch? PLZ HELP.
i’m pretty sure nothing is revealed past first season stuff. don’t read this comments section though.
other than this,

mc chris is a waste of my time.
I knew I’d heard that voice before… still my mind: BOOM.
Sigh, this awesomeness comes close to canceling out the fact that MC Chris played the Gathering.
This song on the summer jams mixtape is like the opposite of when you make a mixtape that has pretty much all good songs except for that one song you regret putting in there.
Also, how is this not on the mix-tape?

you guys i just discovered that there are two other twin peaks raps on youtube already.
here are some “pete and pete” extras rapping in front of their sweet home entertainment system. they didnt even know youtube was going to exist someday.
this one is less charming and more of a mess. but still gets to be punny with the phrase “rapped in plastic”.
I WANT CANDY! Bubble gum and taffy!…612…wharf..aven…..
