They say that every story has already been told before, but I’ve always felt like there must be a few stories left out there. Surely we have not scraped the bottom of the story-telling barrel. But I’m not so sure anymore. It could very well be true. I mean, the story of Gayniggers from Outer Space, for example, was told in Denmark, in 1992*, so, even that is off the table.
Gayniggers from Outer Space tells the story of a group of intergalactic homosexual black men from the planet “Anus” who discover the presence of female creatures on planet Earth. Using guns which shoot deadly rays, they proceed to eliminate females one by one from Earth, which ensures them the ecstatic gratitude of the previously oppressed male population. Before leaving the planet, they leave behind a “Gay Ambassador” to educate the Earthlings about their new way of life. Gayniggers from Outer Space begins as a black-and-white film, but later turns to color. According to Lindberg, this was a “dramatic special effect” to illustrate “the world being freed from vicious women.”
Obviously, that sounds great “on paper,” but you might be worried it would come off cheap and offensive when put to actual film. The only way to be sure is to check out the clips after the jump:
You know, at first I found the aggressive and unapologetic racism and homophobia at the core of this project to be offensive, but then I just got swept up in the powerful acting and beautiful storytelling. Just kidding. I didn’t! (Via FilmDrunk. Thanks for the tip, Edith.)
*1992?! Surely that must be a typo. I am quite certain that Gayniggers from Outerspace was made in 1892, when it would still have been considered entertaining or, at the very least, socially acceptable.

i’m offended by the unapologetic sappiness of the score.
Oh good. It was my turn to bring a video to the weekly Klan meeting and there’s only so many times you can rewatch Triumph of the Wil and Birth of a Nation.
I tried to watch the full feature but I couldn’t hear any of the dialogue over myself yelling “WOOF”
haha look I have a dog pic. funny stuff. comedy with layers.
Complex comedy structures! What is this, an episode of Mr. Show?!
Gabe, I see how you could draw some parallels which made you conclude that they had stolen my movie idea, but I think you’ll find that DykeHeebs from the Center of the Earth is actually much more of a think peice…
Between this and the Ludacris post, I figure now’s a good time to wish everyone a Happy Black History Month.
Yeah, I’m not sure George Washington Carver would have invented his Peanut Internet if he had known it was going to be used for such nefarious purposes.
Don’t forget yesterday’s R. Kelly post.
“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”
-Hamlet, who obviously never saw Gayniggers from Outer Space
I have this on VHS, got it from a Comic Con a while back in box setup of other weird crap. It’s really not as offensive as it is sort of sad. Whoever made this was going for social commentary but knew nothing about any of the movements of lifestyles in the movie and it just comes off really bad. Misguided.
Thanks for nothing, “Obama”
is this a Kool Keith thing?
I really hope that none of you watched the entire 20 minutes of this.
I only made it 25 seconds. At 22 seconds the guy sort of looks like Lil Wayne, and that is enough for me. Whoops, nightmare tape, I’m not getting dragged into this!
DAMMIT! I was saving my movie idea for release date in 2012.
This is the best, most concise and appropriate comment I’ve ever seen on Videogum.
I second this statement please monsters get this into The Ball.
I hereby grant you the keys to the Internet.
At least it’s not viciously misogynist!
What the hell, Denmark? First the Muhammad cartoon now this…. First this now the Muhammad cartoon?
“From Outer Space” is to homophobic/racist slurs what “in bed” is to fortune cookies.
This is the best set of tags ever. There will never be a better one. Game over.
This is horrible.
i do not want to have not not seen this so i’m passing, thanks.
The director, Morten Lindberg, is one of Denmark’s most famous comedians. As blatantly offensive as this movie may come across now, it was meant to be a satire. It still comes off as a ridiculous and tasteless concept, yes, but this film is less than 20 years old… and the Danes/Lindberg are very active about social rights. Not to say that the Danish can’t make a racist comedy (see: Danish Muslim comic strip controversy,) but I don’t believe this particular film is actually racist. I may be wrong, but I believe Lindberg is gay himself.
How do I know all of this: I am Danish.
I don’t mean to bash the thread here. It is great that people are sensitive about these subjects.
Only on person can save the world now…
KICKPUNCHER
I heard Tyler Perry wrote this as a little boy as a heartfelt tribute after his gay dog died.
They worship a giant black anus, Lord Of The Brown Rings!? There’s a King Kong/Peter Jackson joke in there somewhere, but it’s Friday and I’m too tired to find it.
Now where is Tom Cruise going to have ice cream?
Who would agree to act in this?
It’s a shame too that Steve Jobs couldn’t really sue them for using the old school Macintalk app for their computer voice… the fact they did this makes me
Someone stole Dave Chappelle’s movie idea.
“the aggressive and unapologetic racism and homophobia at the core of this project”
Right–because the misogyny was just tangential.
