It’s always a special moment when IMDB updates a new movie’s page to include goofs sent in by viewers. For Sex And The City: The Movie, that moment came this week, when the hastily-made estro-sploitation flick was subjected to the not-so-rigorous examination of its audience. IMDB‘s SATC goofs are just okay, though, so I polled friends about the movie’s mistakes, most of which fall into the “That would never happen!” category. After the jump, the top five mistakes that pulled shopping romance fantasy escapists out of their Mexicomas and into the harsh light of a Meatpacking District walk of shame.
5. Continuity: Carries hair changes colors. When looking for Big’s e-mail her hair is dark brown, but in the next scene when running out the door its blonde. Then it’s back dark when they are lying on the floor, but when Big puts the shoe on, Carrie’s hair switches to blonde again.
4. Possible But Would Never Happen: Stanford and Anthony are implied to become a couple. Which would never happen on the show! They just wanted a sappy ending for everyone in the movie.
3. Possible But Would Never Happen: Carrie to Charlotte (who is pregnant and worried about miscarriage or whatever): “Harry called me and told me you’re not running anymore?” What? No. Harry did not call you.
2. Real World Logic Error: As pointed out in New York Magazine, a bluefly.com bag is noticeable in Carrie’s apartment. NY Mag said this was a mistake because Carrie would never shop there. I say it’s a mistake because bluefly.com is a website and presumably would not send items in bags — unless it was product placement.
1. Real World Logic Error: In Mexico, Carrie throws her cellphone into the ocean. When she gets back to NYC and has to put her life together, Jennifer Hudson says, ‘here’s your new phone number’ and it’s an area code she doesn’t like. But you don’t have to get a new number when you get a new phone!
Also, apparently the boom mic was visible in like every shot, and nobody is as shallow as Samantha in real life.

also i think carrie got a new cellphone because she threw her cellphone into the water. BUT! she got the new number probably so big couldn’t contact her anymore. these goofs are lame!
i’m pretty sure that in the tv series, harry called carrie to tell her he was worried about charlotte – i think it was when she had the miscarriage – so that’s not really not that weird.
how is anthony and stanford kissing an implication that they are a couple?
Three even bigger mistakes:
1) Charlotte runs with her dogs around the reservoir in Central Park. Anyone who regularly runs there would know that dogs are not allowed on that track.
2) Carrie returns her library book to the main branch of the Public Library, which is not a lending branch.
3) Wedding ceremonies are not allowed at the Public Library. Only receptions.
1 goof is missing when carrie’s getting into the car she gives stanford the flowers and anthony sayz its like pushing a cream puff into a key hole then shes in and the flowers appear .
